Brachiosaurus was a large sauropod dinosaur that lived in the late Jurassic in Europe and North America, from 150 to 135 million years ago. It held the record for largest dinosaur for many years, until the discovery of bigger Sauropods, like Sauroposeidon and Argentinosaurus. The former African species (B. brancai, the animal that the Jurassic Park Brachiosaurs are based on) has been reassigned to the genus Girrafatitan.
[edit] Jurassic Park
'Brachiosaurus can be seen in a few famous scenes in the original Jurassic Park, and in Jurassic Park III.
Jurassic Park depicts Brachiosaurus as a gigantic, but gentle
beast. Sights of the calm colossi provide witnesses a sense of wonder,
seeing the Brachiosaurus apparently, similar somewhat to the modern
blue whale, a gentle giant. Dr. Alan Grant himself was fascinated
by these huge herbivores. This dinosaur is also seen rearing up on its hind legs, some scientists think this would have been impossible. Its nostils are positioned on its forhead which made it possible to eat and breath at the same time .
[edit] In Operation Genesis
Brachiosaurus is available in the game Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis as a five-star large herbivore. No carnivores attack it purposely. In some cases, the large carnivores will accidentally attack it while going after another dinosaur. Brachiosaurus is significantly tall, reaching the treetops even on all fours.
