The Colossal Squid is the biggest squid in the world, 12–14 metres (39–46 feet) long. It is even bigger than the giant squid. Its body is reddish brown and it lives up to 2000m below the surface of the Southern Ocean. It is the main food eaten by sperm whales. It is believed to feed on prey such as large fish and other squid. The eye is 27 cm (10.63 in) wide, with a lens 12 cm across. This is the largest eye of any known animal.

Jurassic Park: Builder

The Colossal Squid only appears in Jurassic Park: Builder, in the Aquatic Park. It is a limited edition animal, only available for a short time period.

Trivia

  • The Colossal Squid isn't extinct. Therefore it is a plothole that the creature has to be cloned from DNA in Ice in Jurassic Park: Builder. However it may have been an extinct subspecies.
  • The Colossal Squid along with the Horseshoe crab, Coelacanth, and Nautilus, and is the only non-extinct Jurassic Park attraction in the franchise to appear so far.
  • The Colossal Squid in Jurassic Park: Builder should have a wider mantle, but the game seemed to make it resemble the Giant Squid instead.
