Profile[]

Crichtonsaurus eats from ground herbivore feeders. They are heavily armored and can strike each other and fight predators using their heavy club tails.
Crichtonsaurus in more social than other ankylosaurids, although still live in small social groups and prefer to have few dinosaurs of other species close to them.
Their ideal territory consists of modest areas of grassland and small areas of forest.

Description[]

Crichtonsaurus are a type of ankylosaurid dinosaur, named after the author Michael Crichton. The lack of unique traits in its holotype suggests that it might not be a distinct genus.

Discovery[]

The first fossils for Crichtonsaurus were discovered in China in the Sunjiawan Formation. So far only partial skeletons have been recovered.

Paleoecology[]

Little is known of the ecology for this region, but it was likely to have been subtropical.
