The Brachiosaurus is the largest member of the sauropod family in Jurassic Park, and weighs more than 12 elephants upon release from the hatchery! It has a huge appetite; so huge that they developed nostrils on top of their heaps so that could breathe [sic] without having to stop eating.[1]

Behavior[]

Brachiosaurus, despite it's size, is one of the most quiet dinosaurs you'll place in your park. They will, however, make occasional grunts and humming sounds to communicate with other Brachiosaurus', and sometimes will also communicate with other sauropods, such as Camarasaurus'. It's the slowest dinosaur in the game, and such, it takes a while for them to get to their destination.

Brachiosaurus' will often travel in herds, and will seem more intimidating in herds, so 3-4 or more Brachiosaurus' should be placed into an enclosure. They also play with each other, occasionally they will "chase" each other and jump on their back legs, and this makes it very happy. If they are lonely, they will become stressed and will die faster than they live. A Brachiosaurus will usually sleep for about an hour in-game time.

When under attack, they will climb on their back legs and scare away the predators. Tyrannosaurus rex, Spinosaurus, and Velociraptor will usually not see Brachiosaurus, and other smaller carnivores can not see them completely. Thanks to it's size, it is actually quite hard to kill a Brachiosaurus, so carnivores will not attack and kill it. Brachiosaurus are usually peaceful creatures, but it will get defensive when carnivores are near.

They are very friendly creatures, and are friends with every herbivore, and will occasionally make friends with the Dilophosaurus, and is the only herbivore in the game to become friends with a carnivore. When free-roaming, they will usually try to stay away from humans but, if they do encounter, they are very friendly and peaceful.

Hints and Tips[]

Brachiosaurus travel in herds and become stressed when they are lonely, so be sure to put at least 4 Brachiosaurus into a big enclosure.

Make sure to get them in a big enclosure, thanks to their big size, a small enclosure makes them stressed and they then die out faster. You can also let them free-roam, but remember to preferably keep them away from the rode as visitors will start panicking, and remember to put feeding systems around the whole amp for them when free-roaming, or just make sure there are a lot of Paleo trees.

It may make Kentrosaurus' stressed, so don't put them in the same enclosure.

Information[]

Brachiosaurus is a five-star large herbivore. No carnivores attack it purposely, presumably because it's too big to attack. Brachiosaurus is significantly tall, reaching the treetops even on all fours. It measures 25 meter (82 feet) in length. This Brachiosaur seemed to be a mix of the Jurassic Park III and Jurassic Park Brachiosaurus colors.

Trivia[]

  • It is the largest dinosaur in the game despite it being undersized compared to its real life counterpart.
  • It is also the slowest creature in the game.
  • It is the only dinosaur that carnivores will not attack unless modded.
  • Brachiosaurus can be found in the Morrison Formation B and in the Tendaguru Beds.
  • Although Brachiosaurus can rear-up on its hind legs, it is widely believed by paleontologists that this wouldn't have happened in real-life, as it wouldn't have given it much more access to food.
  • It, along with Tyrannosaurus, is easily the most popular dinosaur among visitors in the game. *Even Thrill Seekers, who are normally only entertained by carnivores, seem to get a thrill enough from staring up at this titanic but gentle beast. It is recommended that players unlock Brachiosaurus and Tyrannosaurus as two of their fifteen dinosaur species, as no park seems complete without them.
  • It can be kept with all herbivores, except Kentrosaurus, because they will start panicking.
  • It needs a lot of exhibit space due to its size. Some players even allow them to roam around the park instead of in an enclosure.
  • It becomes stressed when lonely.
  • It doesn't need a feeder as long as there is plenty of trees.
  • In Site B, it will travel in herds.
  • Although the carnivores will not directly attack Brachiosaurus they will cause it to become stressed, to eat, drink, and sleep all day which will eventually cause it to go into a coma if they are kept together.
  • When near carnivores, it will rear up on its hind legs and scare all carnivores near it away for a few seconds, however even if it directly stomps on a carnivore, it will not deal any damage to them.
