The mysterious woman, now known to be Dr. LaDonna Belvedere, successfully communicates with the raptors and they come to accept her. It is said that she is the one who brought the gorilla to Brazil, as she wanted to study it in unfamiliar surroundings. She discovers that one of the raptors, Celia, is pregnant. Two Biosyn workers watch her communicate with the raptors uneasily from inside a landed helicopter.
John Hammond receives an angry phone call from Bill Steingarten, the head of Biosyn, regarding a bomb set off at his main plant. Hammond, full well knowing that he is the one that pay-rolled the attackers, smugly reminds him that his Costa Rican nature preserve was also sabotaged. Steingarten then sends an order to his workers in Colombia to kill InGen's group (Robert Muldoon and Drs. Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, and Ian Malcolm).
Elsewhere in the jungle, Malcolm seems to be developing a fever. The group is discussing what should be done about this, when they are fired at by a Biosyn copter. Muldoon shoots down the helicopter with his rocket launcher, then leaves the rest of the group while he makes sure that the Biosyn worker in the copter are dead. He finds them alive, but kills them after they try to shoot him. He returns to the group to find that their radio was destroyed by the bullets. They are stranded in the jungle and Malcolm's fever is rapidly getting worse.
Dr. Jeremiah Fischer then arrives in the jungle, telling Dr. Belvedere that he is pleased to have her assistance as he builds Biosyn's own Jurassic Park.
