Katashi Hamada was a commander of InGen Security Division's Asset Containment Unit.

Early lifeEdit

Before joining the InGen Security Division, Hamada was a SWAT team leader.[1]

Isla Nublar Incident (2015)Edit

Hamada and his team were called to stop Jurassic World's remaining Indominus rex who had escaped her paddock, along with another team led by Austin. During their pursuit, Hamada discovered the Indominus rex clawed out her tracking implant; he noting that the blood in the chunk of flesh to which the implant was embedded to has yet to clot, which means that the I. rex was near. As he analyzed the implant, blood began to drip on him. As he looked up, he saw blood dripping off the trees. Making eye contact with Meyers, she and the others looked up as branches snapped behind him. When he turned around, he saw the Indominus rex, which was hiding in the bushes as it stepped out from its hiding place and changed its camouflaged to its original white color. When he realized that it can camouflage he tried to flee; however, the I. rex grabbed Hamada, crushing the latter in her claws. His ACU team inadvertently electrocuted him while trying to tase the Indominus rex. They managed to temporarily stun the animal, which led her to lose her grip on Hamada. He tried to crawl away, but the I. rex crushed him under her foot, killing him instantly.[2]

LEGO Jurassic WorldEdit

Hamada does not appear in the story mode of the game, but he does appear in the Jurassic World hub. He is found just outside the Indominus rex Paddock caught in a snare he set for the titular hybrid. The player can free him by cutting him down using a character that uses a sharp object (such as Owen Grady or Alan Grant) to which the player receives a gold brick and Katashi Hamada becomes purchasable for 85,000 studs. He is shown to deeply fear his boss.

Behind the ScenesEdit

His death may be a reference to The Lost World: Jurassic Park, where the character Carter trips and falls into a puddle, before he is crushed and killed under the foot of the Tyrannosaur Doe.

According to an early draft of the script, Hamada was going to be similar to the novel version of Robert Muldoon. He was to be 52 years old and had killed with his bare hands before.[3]
