Mike was an employee at Eddie Carr's garage. A mechanic, he was working on the third of the three Mercedes-Benz M-Class vehicles scheduled for use by John Hammond's team to Isla Sorna. He wasn't very good at his job, complaining that he couldn't get the "enginey bits" (in his parlance) to fit in, requiring the assistance of Eddie and Ian Malcolm. When they fixed it using a wrench, Mike sheepishly admitted he'd just been pounding the engine uselessly with a mallet.
