Paleontology is a branch of biology that deals with extinct life, especially dinosaurs.
The characters of Alan Grant, Sarah Harding, Richard Levine, and Robert Burke were all paleontologists in the Jurassic Park series. Billy Brennan and Cheryl Logan were graduate students in the field during Jurassic Park III.
