John Ray Arnold was Jurassic Park's engineer. His name was changed to Ray Arnold in the film in order to differentiate between him and John Hammond, though some prefer that as his middle name. Before working at Jurassic Park, he had worked at many theme parks and zoos, such as Disneyland. He also worked in the navy as an engineer. He was killed by a Velociraptor in the shed in both the film and the novel. In the movie, the only proof of his death was an arm that landed on Dr. Sattler.
