The Sumatrann yellow leech is a fictional species of leech from Sumatra that exists in the novel canon that was first mentioned in The Lost World. After Howard King lost his laboratory at BioSyn, a Danish researcher acquired it was developing an extract from the saliva of this species of leech, which showed promise.[1]
