Tapejara was a frugivorous pterosaur from the Early Cretaceous Santana Formation of northeastern Brazil. It reached a wingspan of 3 to 6 m (10 to 20 ft). Its most unique feature was its crest. The crest was 1 to 3 ft across, it depends on what species. The crest on some species could have a sail. It also might be brightly colored for the mating season and would have served as an impressive display feature which could be used also for intimidation.

Jurassic Park: Builder

Tapejara is one of the creatures available in the IOS and Android App game Jurassic Park: Builder. it was released for the first time on November 14th 2014. It appears to be based on Tapejara navigans, which is now considered a species of Tupandactylus. Despite being a carnivore and a pterosaur in the game, they get an enclosure without fences like what the herbivores in the game get. Ironically, the real animal was likely an herbivore.
Jurassic World: The Game

Tapejara appears in Jurassic World: The Game as a Rare pterosaur and costs 670 DNA after being hatched for the first time. In Jurassic World: The Game, Tapejara had teeth in its beak while it had no teeth in reality. Like in Jurassic Park: Builder, it seems to be based off of Tupandactylus (although a different species, Tupandactylus imperator instead of Tupandactylus navigans), which also had no teeth in reality.
Jurassic Park III toy line
In the Jurassic Park III toy line, a doll of Tapejara appears. It has a very large crest. Compared to the human figures of the same series this Tapejara appears to have a wingspan of at least 10 metres, while the only known Tapejara species only grew to a wing scale of about 6 metres. It appears to be based on Tupandactylus, which only had a 5 meter wingspan.[1]
