Another Canon Blog...

Alright, I know that the three major canons (Novel, Film, Trespasser, etc.) are different in several ways, but hear me out; specifically in the Trespasser and Film canons, there aren't as large of differences as people think (major dates being the main difference, but they are most certainly NOT mentioned in the films, and therefore, the actual dates are up for grabs). Now, the Wookieepedia (the Star Wars wiki) clearly states in it's articles that many things that don't coincide with the main timeline/canon are simply retconned. I don't see why things are so much different between the Film and Trespasser canons. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks and good to be back.

-John

Jurassic Park Target Audience

Now we all know that Jurassic Park was made with kids as their major target audience in all canons, but they seem to differ from there. In the novel, it seems like Hammond wants to charge $2,000-$5,000  a day to visit his park, even saying "And I'll tell you, Henry, they'll love it. At least, the rich ones". This would also explain why there was only a small hotel (Safari Lodge) on the island, and the helipad to bring visitors to the island.

In the film however, Hammond seems to want his park to appeal to everyone in the world, even building an airstrip and cruise liner berth on the island, with the helipad used only for VIPs. I believe he had more than one hotel (from maps, the Safari Lodge and Iguanodon Inn are the two that always show up…

Trespasser's Team... They really did their research

Has anyone else noticed how in-depth the Trespasser team really went into the Jurassic Park universe, even though they did have some flaws in the game-film continuation. Anyway, they went so far into the Jurassic Park franchise to include the most minor and unnoticed details from both the films and novels, such as the mentioning of Millipore Plastic Products on shipment crates, a Biosyn logo and a crashed Helicopter, the third Cray XMP from the novels, and so much more! This dedication, along with Richard Attenborough amazing re-portrayal of Hammond made Trespasser one of my favorite games and all time favorite Jurassic Park Game. Anyone else think so?

Who do you think would play JP Characters the Best?

For the most part, I think that the film portrayed most of the novel's characters perfectly, such as Richard Attenborough as John Hammond, although he could've been a little greedier and darker, and Wayne Knight as Dennis Nedry. However, certain characters I don't think represent the same characters nearly as well, such as Robert Muldoon. I love Muldoon in the film, played by Bob Peck, but I don't feel like he's the same character as the novel Muldoon. Robert Muldoon is more like an aged hunter, 50-55 years old, with a steel-gray mustache and an alcoholic addiction, but brilliant anyhow, and continously hunting and serious. I am most reminded of Muldoon from the novel when I see Jaws, because Robert Shaw's character, Captain Quint, strikin…
