Stop reading if you don't want the Jurassic Park IV plot spoiled, but JoBlo has purpotedly gotten its hand on a plot overview for the upcoming dino spectacular. It hasn't been confirmed, but it sounds pretty great regardless -- here's what JoBlo reported:
JURASSIC PARK 4, set in present day Isla Nublar, is now an actual theme park, as originally intended by John Hammond in the first film. It garners 10 million visitors per year and is completely safe - until it's not. The park itself is described as very Sea World-esque and includes an area called the Isla Nublar Lagoon. A recent poster sighting at Licensing Expo in Las Vegas by ComingSoon.net indicates that, despite our belief that Jurassic Park IV would be hitting theaters next year, it's slated for a 2015 release. This news is bittersweet -- it's unfortunate that we're going to have to wait another year for the long-awaited sequel, but it's nice having additional confirmation that the project is still in the works.
The poster also doesn't have a numeral following "Jurassic Park," which might indicate one of two things -- either that it's going to be a remake of the original film (perhaps a more faithful adaptation of Michael Chrichton's novel?) or simply that they're doing the super-hip "we don't need a stinkin' number!" thing. Despite distressing rumblings from the Twittersphere and elsewhere that the upcoming Jurassic Park sequel was all but doomed, new information has surfaced that should put wary Jurassic Park fans at ease. A source directly associated with the project reached out to fansite JurassicPark4-movie.com, with news that the film is still in production, but on temporary hiatus following an emotional "rollercoaster" spurred by deliberation between the studio and certain individuals involved with the project. While there have been layoffs, the source confirms that those affected had already completed their work for the film.
